Hand or Machine Stretch Film: How to Choose

Compare wrapping methods, load characteristics and equipment requirements to choose a film roll that suits your operation.

Start with the wrapping operation: will the load be wrapped by hand or with a stretch wrapping machine? Rongli offers hand and machine film for these different methods. Film selection should take the load, the roll and the working conditions into account.

Hand Film for Flexible Manual Wrapping

Hand film is stretched and overlapped manually around the load. It is suitable for individual packing tasks and warehouse handling. Check roll weight and width against the operator's working method, then try the film on a representative load to assess unwinding and tail fastening.

Machine Film: Check Equipment Compatibility First

Machine film is used with stretch wrapping equipment. Confirm the film carriage dimensions, core size, roll weight limit and pre-stretch system before ordering. Test the roll on the intended machine: film and machine settings need to work together, and thickness alone does not determine wrapping performance.

Include the Actual Load in the Trial

For either method, share the load dimensions, weight, shape and pallet details, and assess the finished wrap on representative goods. Tell Rongli whether the application is manual or machine-based so that thickness, width and roll weight can be discussed for your needs.
